Keeping in the tradition of ending this blog with a review of our year, I can see there are going to be some similar themes!
We have seen great growth this year, increasing our client base and our team, notably taking on David during the summer to manage our day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting operations.
The summer also saw us complete our move from Kent Elms Corner to the centre of Southend, located in a lovely new, larger office just off the high street. Having our new premises means we are now able to offer our clients a meeting room hire service. This is a service and space we’d have loved to have had available to us when we were in old office.
Moving to our new office and taking on David has given us the space to grow our business, doing so when the time was right for us and without any stress.
We have continued to support the development of our staff, with lots of formal and informal training and webinars taking place. This ensures we remain on top of all the relevant changes. Included within this is our proactive response to the upcoming changes to Making Tax Digital for ITSA (income tax self assessment), which although now delayed we will continue to prepare for – we are already in the process of signing up a couple of willing clients to the trial so we can be as prepared as possible for these imminent changes. They are guaranteed to have a big effect on both ourselves and our customers!
Another positive of having David join the team is that it has allowed Martin and myself more time to chat to clients when they pop in, even if it’s just for a nose around our new office.
So, all in all, it has been a busy but productive year and we can’t wait to get stuck into 2023!
